Understanding a Junior Boarding School in Western US

A junior boarding school is another boarding school institution for school children that is widely accepted in the United States and other developed countries in Europe.
Today, we will focus our discussion about boarding schools in Ojai Valley School, some 40 miles off Santa Barbara in California. With only a total population of 8,000, the city of Ojai is also considered a very quiet and peaceful community. But their lies the Ojai Valley School, a boarding school for junior students. This boarding school in the western side of America is known to be among the finest boarding school institutions which can motivate students well because of its well-structured and excellent academic programs. In fact, Ojai Valley School is one of the best boarding schools for English as a Second Language (ESL). Its ELS programs have been recognized worldwide and many international students, as young as eight years old, have been enrolling at said school.
As of this writing, there were 13 countries represented in Ojai Valley School and at least 30 percent of the students comprised the international students’ community. For ESL programs, you can find various options it also offers students whose ages range from 8-14, 14-18 for high school level students. ESL students attend classes in reading, writing, conversation, oral presentation and grammar.
The Ojai Valley Summer and Camp also offers a program good for at least six weeks about camping, recreation as well as other academic enrichment programs. This is usually done from June-July. In August, the OVS has another special class in English language instruction especially in reading, writing, sports camp and in including a tour for one week at some of Southern California’s popular theme parks like Knotts Berry Farm and Disneyland.
Also part of the program in Ojai is the college counseling for students entering college or university to improve their career education program. This program usually starts during sophomore and senior years of the students. According to the school, its recent graduates were accepted in colleges such as Carnegie-Mellon University, Johns Hopkins, Stanford, Purdue, Bernard, Boston University, University of Southern California and UCLA.
