Some effects of gender exclusivity in boarding schools
Jun Thu 19th, 2008 by outsourcing
There are several individuals who have attended a boarding school system who had given out their testimonies that the educational training that they got in their respective boarding schools helps them a lot to succeed in their lives especially in their career life. Since, boarding schools doesn’t only deals on academic areas but as well provide areas for the learners to develop their emotional, social and as well allow the learners to form values within themselves that will serve as a personality building as they forego their life time profession.

With hearing several good benefits in the different boarding schools in United States and Europe, there are also some issues that need to be resolved. Just like the case of a gender exclusive boarding school in which, it has been a controversy that some learners had some difficulty in dealing with the opposite gender due to the fact that they get to use seeing and interacting with the same gender identity. Some will develop an aggressive approach and others will oppositely become extremely shy in dealing with the opposite gender. This concept observation had been based on the some of the learners who undergo a all boys or girls boarding school during their early years of education such as grade school and high school before thy have move on to colleges and universities for continuing education to a higher degree. Just like the case of Lauren Bowden who attended an exclusive gender boarding school in England at an early age but when she forego her college education she got a lot of time adjusting to her new mixed up peers in her new school.
Although, not every one in the all girl and boy boarding school will experience or undergone this scenario but it is good that the different gender exclusive school itself will also create ways on how to deal and stop this type of issue from occurring. One suggested way to that according to the different social psychologist is to give chance their learners to have a social interaction with the other genders at least once a week or twice though inviting a group of female or male learners to be part in their school activities. Indeed, with that simple team building and interaction; the learners in the all girl or all boy school are given a chance to gain a normal social approach.
