New Male Boarding School will be Open this 2010
Jul Mon 6th, 2009 by outsourcing
The Kentucky State University will be opening a new boarding school that is entirely exclusive for male African American individuals for college education this coming 2010 according to the statement made by President Mary Sias. In which, high school learners would entirely live within the vicinity of campus schools together with their educators and the on site principal. In general, they can entirely access the KSU facilities and unto its dual credit career courses that will bridge over towards their college learning. This goal is just one area of increasing the numbers of African American male learners that will be earning or gaining post secondary degrees. The Kentucky State University faculty and staffs believe that it’s a good way of saving many learners and stop several African American from dropping out in their high school and college education.
According to Sias that if only federal and educational grant funding is quite secured especially in the pilot program career course, its been estimated that about 30 to 50 high school learners will be entirely opening this fall of 2010. In line with that, the University had already met along with the other representatives from Thurgood Marshall College Fund and some other foundations in order to discuss about this program more. Since, the university had already set aside some space upon launching this career program this fall. Although, if the money is not yet been arriving due to the mere fact that it’s quite costly. It’s been estimated that about $250,000 will be spending on this pilot career course. Most African American learners who will qualify for the educational funding and grant are those learners who are performing some academic success but just got some limitation towards their social, economic and environmental factors.
This boarding school for African American with some special funding for the pilot program serve a huge support in order to increase the numbers of African American learners and decreasing its drop outs so that they can completely finish their high school up to college education program. Indeed, this plan will support lots of American individuals got the right education and be successful in their chosen career field.
