Boarding schools are now a byword all over the world with the successes achieved by many institutions for learning of this kind. Many colleges and universities are now planning of expanding their boarding schools worlwide to be able to meet the demands. One of those interested in investing in boarding schools is the Jamaica College. The administrators of the school have been planning for this kind of education facility and now they are already on the final stages. With this development Jamaica College would become a go-to school for many students in the country.

This plan of the school also developed after a student at JC was knifed dead by another school mate reportedly while on his way home. This death of the student has caused alarm in the communities regarding the safety of their students. This also prompted JC principal Ruel Reid to pursue the boarding school plan and make a priority project of the school. Reid said the opening of said boarding school must become an eye opener for the many people to realize the importance of boarding school to keep the safety of the students. “We are making this boarding school project a top agenda of my administration. We hope the people would support this program because it is for the betterment of the students and the parents as well,” he said.

The private boarding school that will be spearheaded by Jamaica College would be considered as a good education investment the school is going to undertake so that it would become one of the respected boarding schools in Jamaica. The principal believes that the establishment of a private boardng school would eventually lessen the occurrences of student killings as well as one of the support for the continuing education of students. The school has to developed its facility to meet the demand of the times.
