Feb Tue 24th, 2009 by outsourcing

In order to invite more students from the international scene many boarding schools in the US and other countries in Europe are also holding this annual International Boarding School Award. The primary aim of which is to encourage more students from other countries of the world to try boarding schools and see for themselves what is in store for them in this type of learning institutions.

Many schools who’ve been doing this annual recognition of the best boarders said it’s very effective as a number of students from other countries who came to the US are also increasing every year. In fact for last year many of these students receive their awards as international boarders of the year.

At Windlesham House in West Sussex, Zi-yuan Qu was the lucky boarder who bagged the most prestigious award for eight years old and below. Mr. Richard Foster says Zi is really a good student and he has exceptional skills. He said Zi is as hardworking and conscientious as other boys of his age. The boy has been playing in school and out of school chess events to the highest level. He also has exceptional talent in Rugby, Fencing and Organ playing game which made him most unique than other boys. Being a sportsman, Foster said, is one of the best skills that students should have so that discipline also follows.

For the 9-11 years old students, the title went to Claudia Medina Moralejo of St. Teresa’s. She started as a boarder in 2003. She proudly seized every opportunity that comes her way. A netball player and member of the swimming team she always excels in these sports disciplines. She is currently the captain of Team A netball team as well as the schools Form Captain.

Lina Al-Araj of St. Marys in Cambridge is the winner for 12-13 level and recently received an award as Silver Duke of Edinburgh. Her passions include Piano, rowing, and she speaks Russian, Arabic, English and French. Just like the nursing school, recognition is also considered by many of the nursing school’s boarding institutions.
