Boarding school in Texas produces more talents
Dec Thu 18th, 2008 by outsourcing
Boarding schools in Texas are known to be producers of talents as in the previous years more talents were discovered in the mainstream to be very potential to develop into professional entertainers.
Cellist Gemma Nam is one of the newest additions to the pool of talents in many boarding schools in Texas. She came from Korea and enrolled at the Walnut Hill in the suburbs of Massachusetts that is also enrolled by many students of different cultures and traditions. It is known to be a school for the arts and a prestigious learning institution.
Nam said when she arrived in Texas few years ago it would be a very difficult time as she hails from Seoul, Korea. The environment was totally different as well as the people around her are not Chinese but Americans. However, she made it a point to easily immerse herself to the culture of the Americans. Just like a nursing school, the boarding school system is also a well respected alternative system to traditional education.
She said if she needed to visit a friend she should arrange for a ride being new to the place and she’s not familiar with the kind of transportation the county has. She had to learn many things which made it very difficult for her to adjust to everything – the culture of the Americans, the environment, the attitudes of the westerners and all the things she needed to adjust to immerse successfully.
In fact, when Nam was starting to perform in Texas she felt very nervous when in front of the many audience. It was only when she realizes she needed to develop and stop her stage problem that she also started to enjoy the company of he friends and classmates.
Nowadays, Nam is a picture of most organized and very confident performer on stage and plays the Piano Concert No 1 supported by Dmitri Shostakovich and Christopher O’Riley in the accompaniment.
This clearly demonstrated her prowess that develops in a boarding she enrolled at Massachusetts. The concentration she put into during her classes is a perfect example of how this kind of school is committed to help nurture every child’s dream and develop their talents in order to become a truly professional performer even at an early age.
