4 guides to effectively choose a boarding school
Jan Fri 16th, 2009 by outsourcing
Choosing a good boarding school that can give quality and worthwhile education for the kids is really a burden for parents. This is especially if they are parents of international students that need to give much preparation before they can send their students to international studies.
1. Single sex or co-education – Contrary to the traditional education which mainly focused on co-education, the boarding school is offering single sex to give students full concentration without the disturbances of the opposite sex. There are surveys that reveal the single sex boarding school is very effective when it comes to concentration in the classroom as well as during study periods. Though there are also arguments as to the effectiveness of this single sex education but many parents are already sold to the options that single sex is now among the choices they can think of when it comes to giving safety to their kids.
2. Number of full boarders – The parent considers the number of students in a boarding. For them, the ratio between students and teachers is very important in the promotion of quality education. In a boarding school classroom the normal ratio would be 30 students to one teacher. It is a know fact that crowded classrooms result to destructive classes because many students that have behavioral problems cannot behave in class.
3. Age to start boarding in UK – It is also common questions among parents in what age they can start sending their kids to boarding schools. This is normal because parents are also concerned about the safety of their children, most especially that they will be living inside student villages and dormitories. In a UK boarding school the usually age to start boarding is 7 and 8.
4. Cost of the boarding school – The cost of a boarding school education is also among the special concerns of parents that are planning to send their students to boarding schools. This is because many parents in Europe as well as in the American region have already high regards of the effectiveness of boarding schools. Career changes usually happen in college preparatory boarding schools because they are taught properly how to effectively choose a career they would enjoy in their entire life.
